Ronald J. Augustine

Ronald J. Augustine, 64, Altoona, passed away Wednesday at UPMC Pinnacle Harrisburg. He was born in Altoona, son of the late George Richard and Marjorie A. (Ruggiero) Augustine. He later married Elaine Middleton on Dec. 31, 1990.

He is survived by his loving wife; a son, Anthony Augustine; a daughter, Nicole Augustine; 2 grandchildren: Brayden and Harper; a brother, Richard F. (Nadine) Augustine; 2 nieces: Kristen and Miranda; a nephew, Richard III; and family friend, Melissa Maxwell.

Ron was preceded in death by a nephew, Richard Jr., and a favorite uncle, Johnny Ruggiero.

Ron was a 1974 graduate of Altoona High School. He currently worked as the director of fleet maintenance, and was a dedicated employee for Ward trucking, with 35 years of service.

He enjoyed Steelers football, golfing, the beach, being outside and gardening, watching Brayden play baseball, and spending time with family and his dog, Zoey.
He was a member of the Shriners, Bavarian Aid Society, Heidelburg Country Club, and Mountain Lodge.

Friends will be received from 2-5pm Sunday, May 2, 2021 in the Santella Funeral Home. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
