Rose N. Gerwert

Rose E. Gerwert, 88, of Altoona, PA entered into eternal rest on Friday, Aug. 8, 2025 in Altoona surrounded by her family. Rose was born on June 19, 1937 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Magdalene (Policicchio) and the late Mario DeLuca.

In addition to her parents, Rose is preceded in death by her loving husband James Gerwert whom she married in 1994 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church a sister Martitia Miller and a brother Conrad DeLuca.

Rose is survived by her loving son, Daniel (Shelley) DeLuca of Altoona, PA., her granddaughter Erin (Steve) Cogan and their children; Kendall, Saylor and Bristol as well as a grandson Nicholas (Edyn) DeLuca and their daughter Tymber, and a niece Pam Seidel.

Rose is Catholic by faith and a member of our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. She graduated from Altoona area high school and worked for Sylvania, as well as many years at J.C. Penney’s in the Suit Department as a sales clerk which she dearly loved.

Friends and family will be received from 2 PM to 4 PM on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025 in the Santella Funeral Home where a funeral service will immediately follow. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
