Rufino P. “Rudy” Sanchez, 93, Hollidaysburg, formerly of Virginia Beach, passed away Saturday at the Hollidaysburg Veteran’s Home. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Philip and Rose (Cipriano) Sanchez.
He is survived by 4 sisters: Delores Terver, Lucy Eichoff, Phyllis Woodring, Clara Lynam, and Antoinette Kwiatkowski; and a brother, Philip Sanchez.
Rudy was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca, and a brother, William Sanchez.
Rudy was a proud Navy veteran, serving in World War II, Vietnam, and Korea. He worked on the civil ships in Norfolk, VA. He had a life-long love of the United States Navy.
He enjoyed swimming, boxing, planes, horses, and was an avid Steelers fan.
Friends will be received from 10am until the 11am funeral home service Friday, Feb. 18, 2022 in the Santella Funeral Home. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery with full military honors.
