Sandra "Sandy" Morrison Obituary

Sandra J. “Sandy” Morrison, 85, of Altoona, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 9, 2026 surrounded by her family at Graystone Manor.

Sandy was born on March 14, 1941, in Altoona, Pennsylvania to the late Edna (Cashman) and Russell Clapper.

In addition to her parents, Sandy is preceded in death by her loving husbands,  William T. Kenawell whom passed in 1985, and Daniel Morrison whom passed in 2016,  and her loving children, William Kenawell Jr., Sandra Thomas, and her siblings; Walter Clapper Sr., George Clapper, David Clapper, Russell Clapper, Robert Clapper, Janet Baker, and  Annabelle Fisher.

Sandy is survived by her loving son, Robert (Billie Coffman) Kenawell of Altoona, a brother John (Karen) Clapper of Altoona, 9 grandchildren; Teddy (Rachel), Chandel, Lacreisia, Kara, Robby, Jr., Melinda, Rebecca, Autumn, Amber, and Garret, her step children; Kelly Morrison and Daniel Morrison, Jr.,  her great-grandchildren; Alyssa, Ryan, Weston, and Leviticus, and many nieces and nephews.

Sandy was Christian by faith and a longtime member of Altoona Bible Church.  Sandy was a graduate of Altoona High School and shortly after she married the love of her life, William Kenawell, Sr. In her earlier days she was a Hairdresser as well as co-owner of Mr. Bill’s Stromboli shop and known as the wife of the famous Mr. Bill’s.  She also worked for Wissinger’s Grocery Store and Dry Cleaners, Jubilee, and Sam’s Club after her retirement. Everyone knew Sandy’s fondness for the color white. It shone through in her home décor and in her signature outfits, especially her white pants, cowboy hat, and white cowboy boots. She loved singing karaoke, line dancing, doing the stroll, and listening to Merle Haggard.. Sandy loved spending time with her longtime childhood friends Bill Shaw and his late wife, Hazel, especially going to weekend vintage car shows. If you ever visited her house, you always had to sit down and eat something or play cards (3 to 13 Fireman’s Card Game).   Sandy had many other interests including bowling, crossword puzzles, and always had a jigsaw puzzle on her dining room table and she also enjoyed her frequent visits to The Meadows Custard Shop.

Sandy was blessed to find a second love of her life, marrying Daniel P. “Dan” Morrison, Sr. Together they enjoyed many trips to Erie, fishing and traveling on cruises and to the beach.
