Sharon L. (McDowell) Beere

Sharon L. Beere, 67, Altoona, passed away Sunday at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late William and Mary (Walk) McDowell. She later married Richard Beere.

She is survived by her loving husband; a son, Scott (Melanie) Beere; 5 grandchildren: Meredith (John) Streightiff, Mercedes Beere, Sherry Meek, Dane (Melissa) Beere, and Cassy Beere; 6 great-grandchildren: Seth, Zak, Alana, Carson, Renee, and Sophia; 5 siblings: step-brother, Jim Walk, Carol Graffius, Bob McDowell, Kathy Slowik, and Sam McDowell; and special friends: Pam Graffius and Ashley McDowell.

Sharon was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Edwards.

Sharon worked as a telemarketer and a waitress at George’s Cafe. She enjoyed Bingo, walking, cleaning, and listening and dancing to music.

She was a member of the Bavarian Aid Society and New Life Church in East Freedom.

Friends will be received from 10am to 1pm Friday, July 7, 2023 in the Santella Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
