William Nolan Obituary

William D. Nolan, 76, of Altoona, passed away on March 4, 2023, due to health complications. Bill was born in Altoona on July 28, 1946. He is survived by his son, Christopher Nolan and his wife Patricia; and grandchildren: Emily, Shane, and Karalyn Nolan; his daughter, Gretchen (Nolan) Bowman and her husband James Bowman; and grandchildren: Elena and Lydia Bowman; his sister Linda Nolan-Labbe and her husband Ron Labbe; his niece, Michelle Andersen; his nephew Brett Labbe; and his first wife, Michelle (Kuhn) Nolan.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, of many years, Mary Helen Nolan; and his loving daughter, Jennifer Nolan-Yohay.  Bill is the son of the late William A. Nolan and Ethel C. (Detwiler) Nolan. 

He was a graduate of Altoona High School. He was a member of the Frohsinn Singing Society and the Mishler Theater, where he displayed his love and talents for the performing arts! He also was an active member of Abundant Life Assembly of God Church.

Bill loved music and the movies and was always willing to talk about the latest movies he wanted to see!  He also spent time watching old movies that he greatly enjoyed.  Bill owned and operated the 704 Clothing Outlet in Altoona, Pennsylvania. In a second career, Bill served as an officer for the Altoona Hospital Police and retired after nearly 35 years of service.

Bill will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him!

There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be arranged by the family at a later date. Arrangements are by Santella Funeral Home, 1106 8th Ave., Altoona, PA 16602.
