William A. "Bill" Turchetta

William Anthony Turchetta “Bill” of Allison Park, PA, passed away on September 22, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. Bill was born on June 9, 1950, in Altoona. Pa. He is the son of P. Anthony Turchetta and Sylvia (Frezza) Turchetta of Altoona.

Bill was a 1968 graduate of Altoona Area High School. He had a standout career in High School football and was chosen to play in the Big 33 game in his senior year. Bill received a Football Scholarship to attend Villanova University and was a three-year starter for the team. There he nurtured lifelong friendships with his team that still exist today. Golfing was a great joy for Bill which he shared with these college friends.

He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in 1972. Bill began his working career with International Harvester Credit. He then accepted a position with Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation where he became Vice President and eventually the Director of Infinity Financial services that he started. Bill retired as Senior Vice President of Operations with the Consumer Loan Center for PNC Bank, Pittsburgh, PA.

Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his devoted wife, Rita (Perretta) formerly of Altoona, a beloved son, Joshua (Angelina Louise) from Pasadena California, a cherished daughter, Sara Wininger (Zackary) from PA, adored granddaughters, Olivia and Evelyn, loving brother Tom, (Rita) from Knoxville, Tennessee, sisters in law, brothers in law, nephews, niece, grandnieces and nephew, a great grand niece and many cousins, especially Patricia Cherry, to whom he felt like a brother.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation at Santella Funeral Home at 1106-8th Avenue, Altoona, PA. from 1:00-4:00pm on Friday, October 13th, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will follow on Saturday morning, October 14th at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 806-11th Street, Altoona, PA. The interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Altoona, PA. following the mass.
