Winifred (Norris) Hill

Winifred (Norris) Hill, 91, of Altoona passed away Saturday at Amber Terrace in Altoona.

She was born in Three Springs, daughter of the late Stella (Regi) and Fred Norris. On Jan. 1, 1942, she married Harold Hill.She is survived by her husband, Harold; three daughters: Wanda Cramer of Charleston, S.C., Maxine Ricker and Cathy Zeak of Altoona; a son, Edwin Hill, also of Altoona; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Diana Mae.

Winifred was a 1941 graduate of Altoona High School.

She retired from the Altoona Area School District where she had been a teacher's aide at Wright School. She was one of the oldest members of Fairview United Methodist Church where she was active until becoming unable to attend.She enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Woodview Garden Club. But her true passion was traveling. In her lifetime, she visited every state except Alaska. And now she has made her final trip to make sure things will be ready for us when we get there. Safe rest at journey's end, beloved traveler.

Arrangements will be private at the request of the family and are being handled by the Leslie E. Axe Funeral Home.
