Yolanda M. (Spiridigliozzi) Carnicella

Yolanda M. Carnicella, 96, Altoona, passed away Sunday at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, Roaring Spring. She was born in Mount Vernon, N.Y., daughter of the late Gaetano and Giovannia (Daversa) Spiridigliozzi.

On Feb. 7, 1948, she married Peter J. Carnicella at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Mount Vernon, N.Y. He preceded her in death on April 15, 2018.

She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Terry Carnicella; two grandchildren, John B. (Julie) Carnicella Jr. and Maria (Alan) Kratzer; six great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Spiridigliozzi in New York; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, John Carnicella; and numerous brothers and sisters.

Yolanda worked for the Altoona Shoe Co. as a seamstress.

She enjoyed bingo, ceramics and crocheting.

Yolanda was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Altoona.

Friends will be received at the 10 a.m. funeral Mass Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
